Message from the Sporting Clay Director: 5-Stand Update

Rob McDonaldHello everyone,

As you may have heard by now, the club is moving towards the development of a trial 5-stand venue.

With the assistance and hard work of Dan Evans, Jack Evans and the board of directors, a business plan has been approved.

The plan will see the trial facilty integrated into the east skeet field. Schedules for operation will be coordinated with the directors of the affected diciplines.

Funding for the new venue has been approved in this years operating budget.

The business plan for Five-stand at the VGC is broken down into two phases:

     1. Implimentation of the trial facility on the east skeet field.

     2. Pending review and acceptance, a permanent all weather facility on the west side of the club adjacent to the sporting clay high tower will go into construction.

I urge every one in the club to ensure that this is viable. Five stand is a diversified, walk up, course of fire. The club's plan will see the integration of some of the best software programing available. For those flurry bird shooters; get ready for some challenging and fun shooting.

Here is even better news.

To procure immediate funding, the following offer goes out to all members and guest shooters:

You can purchase 20 punch cards for Sporting Clays and 5-Stand for $1,000.00. This is a 23% discount. You can't turn that down. Call your friends and go in together on the offer. This offer is limited to 25 - $1,000.00 lots. Offer ends March 31.

Money is the easy part. Development of the venue will take work. If you would like to volunteer on the set up, please contact myself or Mike House. This is an excellent opportunity for new members to learn about clay target shooting.

Material and equipment is being ordered, and will be here as early as the end of March.
