Vancouver Gun Club History
In 1924 the Vancouver Gun Club was created by a small group of local hunters and sportsman on a large plot of land located at 49th Avenue & Oak Street in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. After years of success, it was decided the club needed more room to expand. A large piece of land was chosen at 7340 Sidaway Road in Richmond, B.C. where the club is currently located on 39.4 acres and offers 4 disciplines of shooting to members: American Trap, Olympic (International) Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays.
The ever changing facilities are always being upgraded and are considered by some to be the best Western Canada and the Lower Mainland featuring a clubhouse with full kitchen and concession, mess hall, lounge area, washrooms complete with showers and an outside BBQ area for summer.
For over 85 years, the members of VGC have set standards of excellence in the sport of shooting. The club has been the training grounds for multiple Canadian Olympic champions and has been an example for firearm safety with a record that remains unblemished since the clubs beginnings.
